Welcome |
Dear friends!
We are proud to invite you to the annual Europe Contact Improvisation Teachers Exchange (ECITE). This year 2007, for the first time in the 22-years history, it is going to happen in Russia. The organizing team from Saint-Petersburg is honored to be your host.
For this year we decided to keep ‘classic' structure of ECITE with teacher's exchange in the morning, study labs in the afternoon and jams and performances during the evening and night hours. We will work 7 days, from Thursday to Saturday and from Monday to Thursday with one day off.
We are working to prepare the ECITE for you and to make it inspiring, fruitful, comfortable and creative exchange. And we would be happy to hear any questions, requests and feedback from you.
ECITE is the European Contact Improvisation Teachers Exchange. The annual meeting started in Amsterdam on the initiative of Nancy Stark Smith in 1985. Contact Improvisation teachers mainly from Europe and some from other parts of the world come together hosted by a different European country every year.
It is providing opportunities to exchange about contact Improvisation as a dance technique, as a way of moving and improvising, as an approach to being in and connecting to the world. ECITE was made possible by those who began teaching Contact Improvisation in Europe and wanted to deepen their practice by researching and exchanging with each other.
Behind ECITE is to keep developing the form and to ensure a good level of teaching. ECITEs are welcoming you if you are a teacher of Contact Improvisation.
